With over 19 years of dedicated experience in special education and student advocacy, brings a wealth of expertise and passion to the OATECA Transition Center team. Now in her first year as Program Coordinator, she specializes in guiding adults through vital transition phases, helping them build independence and achieve their personal goals.

Alane’s career began as a substitute teacher in a Special Needs Program, a pivotal experience that sparked a lifelong commitment to the field. This passion quickly translated into a full-time role as a Paraprofessional, spending three years supporting elementary aged students.  She then spent nine impactful years as a Lead Teacher at The Bethany Children’s Health Center, designing and implementing tailored programming for individuals ranging from infants to young adults (ages 0–22).

Before stepping into their leadership role at OATECA, she spent two years as a Paraprofessional at Deer Creek Elementary (K-5) and another two years at Yukon High School’s Transition Center, where she focused exclusively on supporting young adults aged 18–22.

Throughout her diverse career spanning all age groups and ability levels, she has remained steadfast in her mission to empower individuals and foster inclusive, supportive environments where every student can thrive.
